World Hearing Day 2025

Mar 1, 2025 | Kent Hearing

Monday 3rd March is World Hearing Day and this year’s theme is ‘Empower yourself to make ear and hearing care a reality for all’.  World Hearing Day is a global event organised by the World Hearing Organisation (WHO) and 2025’s message continues the theme of changing mindsets to ear and hearing care, inviting us all to ‘take steps to ensure good hearing throughout life.’
In support of this initiative, Dr Priya Carling AuD, RHAD and Danielle Krabbenhoft BA (Hons) will be visiting The Discovery School, Kings Hill, on the morning of Monday 3rd March, giving talks to both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children about their ears and how to look after them, both now and in the future.  Then on Tuesday March 4th, Ruth Bannister BSc will be visiting another local school, Trottiscliffe Primary School, giving similar talks to both age groups.
At both schools we will be running a World Hearing Day quiz for Key Stage 2 children and a World Hearing Day colouring competition for Key Stage 1 children, with educational books on the human body and the ears as prizes for the lucky winners! We will be publishing the winning entries for these competitions on our website in the near future.
We are really looking forward to meeting all the teachers and pupils at both schools!
