Tinnitus Awareness week 2025

Jan 28, 2025 | Kent Hearing

Tinnitus Awareness Week takes place from Feb 3rd – 9th this year, aiming to raise awareness of Tinnitus across the UK.  Tinnitus is the hearing of sounds, for example a ringing, buzzing or roaring sound, that are not caused by an external source.  This is much more common than many people think, with over 13% of people in the UK experiencing some form of prolonged tinnitus*.
While more prevalent in people with hearing loss, tinnitus can affect anyone. The symptoms of Tinnitus can be severe and in some cases debilitating, and while there is no cure for this condition, it can be effectively managed so that people are able to live with their tinnitus not affecting their daily lives.
Two members of the Kent Hearing team, Dr Priya Carling AuD, RHAD and Ruth Bannister BSc, both have tinnitus, so it is a subject that we take a particular interest in.  We offer a comprehensive range of services relating to reducing and managing Tinnitus. These include extensive diagnosis of the condition, its symptoms and possible causes, the provision of specialist hearing aids (which can be very effective in reversing the effects of tinnitus), and Tinnitus Therapy which uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to reduce the emotional distress and anxiety that many tinnitus suffers experience.
Full details of the services we provide to Tinnitus sufferers can be found on our Tinnitus Services page or call us on 01732 525912 for more details.
We will be marking Tinnitus Awareness Week this year by attending the launch of Tinnitus UK’s 2025 Tinnitus report and communicating with our patients directly and via social media regarding what can be done to help them with their tinnitus.
