Kent Hearing Transparent

Our recent Charity Golf Day, in aid of Kent Deaf Children’s Society (KDCS), was a huge success, raising £2805 for the charity and providing a fun-packed day of golf and good company for all those who took part.  Held at Bearstead Golf Club, 32 friends and associates teed-off on the 18-hole, par 71 parkland course, which was in excellent playing condition.  Priya hit the first ball of the day, a well-struck mid iron, which just failed to make the 1st green!
The winning team of Paul Unwin, Paul Larchet, Mick Tatham and Carl Smith, all won free 4-balls at Bearstead and a sleeve of Callaway balls. There were also prizes for the 3 runner-up teams and individual prizes for ‘Nearest the Pin’, ‘Nearest the pin in 2 shots’ and ‘Longest Drive.  A small charity auction took place after prize giving, with the generosity of those who donated prizes and of those who bid for them, helping to boost the funds raised on the day dramatically (see below).
Kent Deaf Children’s Society is a small local charity that Kent Hearing supports whenever possible.  Run by a group of committed volunteers, who are either parents of children with hearing loss or who work providing services for deaf children, the charity works to support deaf children in breaking down barriers to communication, reducing the impact that their diagnosis has of everyday life and alleviating feelings of low self-esteem due to deafness or severe hearing loss.  The charity’s aim is for deaf children in the Kent area to feel empowered and own their deafness.
